Assistant Manager II

Overview We’re seeking an Assistant Store Manager to join our team to help with store operations, customer service and team development. Responsibilities Assist with store functions and day‑to‑day store activities. Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns. Organize and transfer merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom and sales floor; maintain seasonal areas. Perform opening and closing procedures as required. Process corporate directives: Pull and Hold/Destroy, Task Compliance, Key Survey information requests, and other communications. Maintain promotional effectiveness of store‑front fixtures and displays. Assist with ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, and record keeping (payroll, scheduling, cash register deposits and receipts). Maintain cleanliness and organization of sales floor, stockroom, bathrooms, floors, trash, and overall store appearance. Protect and secure company assets, including store cash. Adhere to policies and procedures, including safety guidelines, and ensure associates follow them. Help the Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates. Maintain a positive, safe, and respectful environment with professional, friendly interactions with customers, associates, and leaders. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent preferred; ability to read, interpret, and explain operational directives required. Store‑management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment preferred. Ability to lift up to 55 lbs. from floor to above shoulder height; frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling, and repetitive lifting required. Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills required. Ability to work in a high‑energy, team environment required. Exceptional customer service, organizational, and communication skills required. Strong problem‑solving and decision‑making skills required.
