A-List Therapy Group is seeking a reliable and highly organized individual to assist with small claims court filings, unpaid account collections, court documentation, and service-of-process coordination .

This is an as-needed position . It is not a full-time role. Work will be assigned whenever the company needs assistance pursuing unpaid invoices or other business-related small claims matters.

We are looking for someone who is dependable, detail-oriented, comfortable working independently, and able to follow a matter from initial preparation through filing, service, and hearing preparation.

Responsibilities

• Prepare California small claims court forms using information and documentation provided by the company

• File small claims cases electronically whenever available

• Complete in-person courthouse filings when necessary

• Travel to Los Angeles County courthouses, including Beverly Hills and other locations as needed

• Track case numbers, court dates, filing deadlines, and service deadlines

• Research businesses, legal entities, addresses, and Agents for Service of Process

• Coordinate service of court documents on businesses and individuals

• Work with professional process-serving companies when appropriate

• Follow up with process servers regarding successful service

• Obtain and file Proofs of Service

• Contact court clerks or courthouse departments when necessary to confirm filing or case information

• Organize contracts, invoices, statements, emails, correspondence, payment records, and other supporting documents

• Prepare organized evidence packets for upcoming small claims hearings

• Maintain a calendar and tracking system for all open cases

• Provide regular updates regarding the status of each matter

• Assist with administrative steps related to collecting judgments when requested

• Handle confidential company, financial, and legal information professionally

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years old

• Must have reliable transportation

• Must be willing to travel throughout Los Angeles County and, occasionally, other areas of Southern California

• Excellent organization and attention to detail

• Strong follow-through and ability to meet deadlines

• Comfortable completing government and court forms

• Comfortable working with PDFs, email, online filing portals, and cloud-based documents

• Strong written and verbal communication skills

• Comfortable communicating with court clerks, process servers, businesses, and company management

• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

• Must be dependable and responsive when an assignment is accepted

• Ability to maintain confidential information

Preferred Experience

Experience is helpful but not required in any of the following areas:

• California small claims court

• Court filing or court runner services

• Legal administrative work

• Collections

• Process serving

• Law office support

• Legal document preparation

• Los Angeles Superior Court filing procedures

Training and instructions regarding the company’s process will be provided.

Position Structure

This is a 1099 independent contractor, on-call position .

There may be periods when there are no assignments and other periods when multiple matters require attention. The contractor will be contacted when assistance is needed and compensated at $18.50 per hour for approved work performed .

This position is ideal for someone seeking flexible supplemental work and who is comfortable handling court-related administrative assignments independently.
