20/20 Metals is growing, and we’re looking for an experienced Controller to join our team and take ownership of our accounting and financial reporting function. We are a wholesale distributor specializing in prime and surplus metal products, including Galvanized Steel, Galvalume Steel, Stainless Steel, and Aluminum. We serve a wide range of industrial and commercial customers and operate in an inventory-intensive, fast-moving industry. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who wants to do more than simply maintain the books. What you can expect: A key leadership position with significant responsibility and autonomy The opportunity to build and improve accounting processes as the company grows Direct collaboration with company leadership A hands-on role where your ideas and expertise can make a difference A growing business environment with opportunities to develop professionally A team that values integrity, accountability, efficiency, and strong relationships What You’ll Own: The Controller will oversee the company's day-to-day accounting and financial operations, including: Monthly, quarterly, and year-end close General ledger management and account reconciliations Accounts payable and accounts receivable Bank reconciliations and assigning/coding bank transactions Financial statements and management reporting Inventory accounting, costing, valuation, and reconciliations Cash flow and working-capital management and reporting Budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis Internal controls and accounting procedures Banking relationships and coordination with financial institutions Coordination with our outside CPA, tax professionals, and other financial partners Managing business insurance needs, including obtaining and evaluating bids for office, liability, and sales-related insurance Identifying opportunities to improve financial processes, reporting, and efficiency Helping develop scalable accounting systems and procedures as 20/20 Metals continues to grow Providing financial insight and recommendations to leadership to support sound business decisions What We’re Looking For: We’re looking for someone who is analytical, accountable, detail-oriented, and comfortable getting into the weeds while still seeing the bigger picture. The ideal candidate will have: Strong accounting and finance experience, including general ledger management and financial reporting Previous experience as a Controller or in a senior accounting role Experience with cost accounting, inventory valuation, reconciliations, and margin analysis Experience in distribution, manufacturing, metals, or another inventory-intensive business is highly valued Strong knowledge of GAAP and internal controls Experience with accounting software and ERP systems Advanced Microsoft Excel skills The ability to analyze financial information, prepare forecasts, and communicate meaningful insights to leadership Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills Strong attention to detail and accuracy Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively across different areas of the business Demonstrated integrity, sound professional judgment, and a strong sense of accountability CPA or similar professional certification is a plus Location: This is a full-time position based in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Candidates should be based near Fort Lauderdale or be willing to relocate.
