Job Details

• Job Type: Full-time and Part-time available
• Pay: $17-$19/hour
• Hours: 40 hours/week ( Tuesday to Sunday hours )
• Familiarity with Asian cuisine and wok cooking is preferred but not required. Training and recipes will be provided.

Position Overview

As a Line Cook at Si Uthai Restaurant and Cafe, a well respected family owned restaurant, you will prepare and cook menu items with consistency, care, and attention to detail. You’ll work closely with the kitchen team to keep service running smoothly while maintaining our quality, sanitation, and safety standards. This role requires strong communication, organization, and pride in delivering great food every shift.

Responsibilities

• Tuesday to Sunday hours
• Assisting with stocking and setting up the kitchen stations
• Set up and stock stations with all necessary supplies
• Preparing food including cleaning and cutting the ingredients and cooking dishes, and appetizers(e.g. chopping vegetables, butchering meat, or preparing sauces)
• Prepare and cook food items according to recipes and quality standards
• Cook menu items in cooperation with the rest of the kitchen staff
• Working with servers to ensure that orders are completed according to request and on time
• Answer, report and follow executive or Head chef's instructions
• Tidy up the station and handle any leftover food
• Aim to minimize food waste
• Washing and cleaning the kitchen station at the end of shifts
• Clean and maintain kitchen equipment, utensils, and work areas
• Stock inventory appropriately
• Follow proper food handling and safety procedures
• Ensuring that the kitchen operation procedures and hygiene meet food safety standards and regulations
• Comply with nutrition and sanitation regulations and safety standards
• Maintain a positive and professional approach with coworkers and customers
• Follow recipes and presentation specifications

✅ Requirements and Skills

• Proven cooking experience, including experience as a Line Chef, Restaurant Cook or Prep Cook
• Previous experience as a line cook preferred
• Excellent understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment and procedures
• Knowledge of food preparation techniques and kitchen equipment
• Ability to handle knives and other sharp kitchen tools safely
• Understanding of food safety regulations and procedures
• Accuracy and speed in executing assigned tasks
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• Familiar with industry's best practices
• Must have weekend availability
• Reliable transportation required
