The position requires exceptional attention to detail, strong database and reporting experience, and the ability to manage multiple concurrent data workstreams in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment. You will collaborate directly with reporting leaders, taking direction effectively while operating with a high degree of independence and ownership.
Responsibilities
- Define, build, and maintain metrics within internal systems to support sustainability reporting and enterprise reporting needs.
- Plan and execute end-to-end data collection campaigns, including coordinating timelines, stakeholders, and deliverables.
- Manage large, complex datasets, including 2,000+ data points going into any given report, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and completeness.
- Partner closely with controllership and related teams to ensure data accuracy, auditability, and compliance with internal controls.
- Monitor data quality, identify gaps, anomalies, and issues in sustainability and ESG-related data, and drive resolution without requiring constant oversight.
- Handle data-related escalations, triage issues, and coordinate with cross-functional stakeholders to resolve them promptly.
- Work directly with reporting leaders, taking direction while independently owning workstreams and driving tasks to completion.
- Develop and refine reporting processes, documentation, and workflows to improve efficiency, data governance, and repeatability.
- Use Excel (including VLOOKUP and pivot tables) and database tools to analyze, reconcile, and transform data for reporting.
- Leverage enterprise reporting platforms such as Workiva or similar systems to support sustainability reporting and data management activities.
- Communicate data issues, findings, and requirements clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders in written and verbal form.
- Manage multiple concurrent data workstreams in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment, prioritizing tasks and meeting reporting timelines.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including finance, sustainability, marketing, and controllership, in a large, global enterprise setting.
- Apply general sustainability reporting frameworks and ESG concepts to data management and reporting processes.
- Use tech-driven productivity and collaboration tools, including Asana or similar platforms, to track tasks, manage projects, and coordinate work.
Essential Skills
- At least 3 years of professional experience in data management, database administration, data analysis, or closely related practices.
- Demonstrated exceptional attention to detail with a proven track record of maintaining high data quality standards.
- Experience working with relational databases, data management platforms, or enterprise reporting systems.
- Strong proficiency with Excel, including VLOOKUP and pivot tables, for data analysis and reporting.
- Experience in database management and handling large datasets, including 2,000+ data points per report.
- Ability to take direction from leadership while independently managing workstreams and driving tasks to completion.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain data issues clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
- Proven ability to manage multiple concurrent workstreams and deliver in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Fluency in tech-driven productivity and collaboration software applications and tools, with the ability to quickly learn new platforms.
- Interest in and comfort with sustainability reporting, ESG data, or related corporate responsibility topics.
- Bachelors degree in data management, information systems, business, sustainability, or a related field.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience with Workiva or similar enterprise reporting platforms used for corporate and sustainability reporting.
- Experience with general sustainability reporting frameworks, ESG concepts, or corporate responsibility programs.
- Experience in finance or sustainability, or experience in marketing with a focus on narrative and production of sustainability content, combined with strong data-driven skills.
- Experience in controllership, internal audit, or audit-adjacent data management roles.
- Experience with data governance frameworks, data quality methodologies, or master data management practices.
- Experience working with cross-functional teams in a large, global enterprise environment.
- Familiarity with Asana or similar project and task management tools for organizing and tracking work.
- Ability to operate with a high degree of independence, proactively identify data gaps, and drive resolutions.
- Strong interest in technical, data-driven work related to sustainability and ESG reporting.
