Accounting Associate

We are a small manufacturing and distribution company providing products to the hospitality and confection industries, and we are looking for an experienced accounting assistant to join our close-knit team. As a detail-oriented and organized professional, you will support various accounting tasks and assist in maintaining accurate financial records for the company.

Your daily responsibilities will involve supporting both accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, which includes invoice processing, vendor payments, and customer invoicing. You will regularly reconcile bank statements and credit card transactions, prepare journal entries, and assist in month-end close procedures. Additionally, you will help prepare financial reports and analysis, maintain accurate and organized financial documentation, and provide support for payroll processing. This position requires collaboration with other departments to ensure accurate recording of financial transactions, alongside performing ad hoc tasks and projects assigned by the accounting manager or ownership.

To qualify for this position, you must have previous experience in an accounting or finance role. We prefer a bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field, but we will also consider an equivalent combination of education and experience. Compensation will depend on experience and skill set. You need a strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Word, and you must be comfortable learning and navigating enterprise-level software. This role demands strong communication skills, excellent organization, sharp time management, and a high level of attention to detail and accuracy. You must be able to follow directions, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment while working effectively both independently and as part of a team.
