We are looking for an Accounts Payable Specialist to join a real estate-focused organization in California. This is a permanent, on-site contract opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a collaborative accounting team and can manage a steady invoice volume with precision. The position centers on accounts payable while also contributing to reconciliations, cash reporting, and broader accounting support tied to a multi-entity real estate portfolio.

Responsibilities:
• Manage end-to-end invoice processing for a high weekly volume across several companies and related entities, ensuring timely and accurate payment handling.
• Oversee core accounts payable activities, including invoice coding, payment preparation, ACH transactions, and check run coordination.
• Contribute to weekly cash reporting by maintaining and updating Excel-based schedules and summaries.
• Complete bank reconciliations for a large number of accounts and investigate discrepancies to support accurate financial records.
• Provide accounting assistance through journal entry preparation and other routine general ledger support tasks.
• Apply job cost allocations and coding standards to invoices in alignment with project and entity requirements.
• Assist with construction billing administration, including documentation review and invoice support.
• Track and process lien waiver documentation while supporting accounting activities connected to real estate assets and financial statement review.• Prior experience in accounts payable with additional exposure to general accounting responsibilities.
• Solid understanding of invoice coding, account coding, ACH processing, and check run procedures.
• Background in accounting is required, with the ability to work accurately across multiple entities and priorities.
• Proficiency in Excel, including core spreadsheet functions and lookup capabilities.
• Experience in real estate, property, or construction-related accounting environments is strongly preferred.
• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to operate effectively in a small team setting.
• Comfortable working on-site on a permanent basis in Santa Monica, California.
