The Shipping Lead will be responsible for managing the outbound flow of goods, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with company and regulatory standards. This role requires strong leadership skills, the ability to multitask, and a commitment to maintaining a smooth and efficient shipping process.Key ResponsibilitiesDaily Shipping Operations:Coordinate and oversee all outbound shipments, ensuring orders are packed, labeled, and shipped accurately and on time.Verify shipping documentation, including bills of lading, shipping labels, and packing lists, for completeness and accuracy.Monitor loading activities to ensure goods are handled properly and efficiently.Team Supervision:Lead, train, and mentor the shipping team, ensuring high performance and adherence to company policies.Assign daily tasks to team members and monitor progress to meet shipping deadlines.Provide feedback and support to team members to improve productivity and accuracy.Carrier Coordination:Schedule pickups with carriers and freight companies, ensuring alignment with shipping schedules.Communicate with carriers to resolve any issues related to delays, damages, or lost shipments.Maintain strong relationships with logistics partners to ensure consistent service.Inventory and Quality Control:Collaborate with inventory and quality control teams to address any discrepancies or damaged goods before shipping.Perform routine checks on outgoing shipments to ensure compliance with quality standards and customer requirements.Reporting and Documentation:Maintain detailed records of all shipments, including quantities, destinations, and tracking information.Generate daily and weekly shipping performance reports for review by warehouse management.Ensure compliance with company policies and applicable shipping regulations.Safety and Compliance:Enforce adherence to safety protocols during shipping activities, including proper equipment handling.Ensure compliance with local, federal, and international shipping regulations.Conduct safety briefings and training sessions as necessary.QualificationsEducation: High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education or certifications in logistics or supply chain management are a plus.Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in a shipping or warehouse environment.
