Role: AV Support Technician

Location: NYC, NY

Contract – Onsite

Pay: $35.00 - $38/hr on W2(Inclusive all)

Key Responsibilities

Conference Room AV Support & Sweeps

• Perform daily AV sweeps of all conference rooms to proactively catch and resolve issues before meetings start.
• Support and assist employees using conference room AV systems, both on-site and remote, including Google Meet, projectors, displays, and audio/video conferencing equipment.
• Troubleshoot and resolve Google Meet hardware and software issues, including Google Meet room kits, cameras, and in-room controllers.
• Support and maintain the Logitech Rally line of products (cameras, speakers, mics, and Rally Bar/Rally Bar Mini) across conference rooms.
• Support and troubleshoot Neat Bar Pro systems, including connectivity, audio/video quality, and firmware issues.
• Configure, monitor, and troubleshoot Logitech scheduling displays/room schedulers, ensuring rooms show accurate availability and booking status.
• Know and work with your points of escalation to continuously improve the end-user experience.
• Train employees on the proper use of conference room AV equipment.
• Respond to support escalations from the IT Helpdesk, both in person and via our ticketing system, and triage hardware stacks as needed.
• Manage inventory for AV and IT hardware and software, including tracking, ordering, and stocking of spares and consumables.

Conference Room Design, Install & Troubleshooting

• Provide technical input in the selection and management of AV integrators, technology vendors, and managed-service partners.
• Design, install and configure new conference rooms from the ground up, including mounting displays and cameras, running and terminating cabling, and installing and provisioning room hardware.
• Configure, calibrate, and maintain conference room audio systems (DSPs, mixers, microphones, speakers) to ensure clear, consistent audio quality.
• Diagnose and resolve complex, end-to-end conference room issues spanning hardware, software, network, and scheduling systems.
• Document room configurations, signal flow diagrams, and equipment inventories for all supported spaces.
• Assist with cabling, rack builds, and low-voltage wiring for new or renovated conference rooms as needed.

Event AV Support & Production

• Operate and run live AV production for internal company events out of the All-Hands event booth, serving as day-to-day hands-on technical support for All-Hands meetings, town halls, and other streamed events.
• Operate Q-SYS systems for event audio processing, DSP configuration, and signal routing during live productions.
• Set up, configure, and operate Epiphan Pearl 2 encoders for recording and streaming All-Hands and training room events.
• Configure and troubleshoot Google Meet as the hybrid/remote contribution and streaming platform for live events.
• Operate Blackmagic switchers for live camera switching and program video during events.
• Operate mixing consoles to provide core audio support — levels, mic mixes, and program sound — for live events and presentations.
• Extend event AV support beyond the All-Hands booth by setting up, running, and tearing down AV for events held in the training room and other secondary event spaces.
• Perform pre-event technical checks (audio, video switching, camera framing, encoder/streaming status, and Google Meet connectivity) and conduct basic run-throughs ahead of live events.
• Monitor the live event signal chain during productions and troubleshoot issues in real time, escalating to the Broadcast Lead or events team for complex or high-stakes production issues.
• Coordinate with the Events team and Broadcast Lead on run-of-show technical requirements, equipment needs, and staffing for upcoming events.
• Perform routine maintenance, firmware updates, and basic troubleshooting on event AV equipment, including Q-SYS processors, Epiphan encoders, Blackmagic switchers, mixing consoles, cameras, and microphones.
• Assist with cabling, rack organization, and configuration changes for the All-Hands booth and training room event AV systems.
• Help maintain documentation for event AV setups, signal flow, and standard operating procedures for recurring event types.

Documentation, Systems & Continuous Improvement

• Develop and maintain knowledge base articles and runbooks in Confluence for conference room and event AV systems, troubleshooting steps, and standard operating procedures.
• Monitor conference room AV system health using remote monitoring and management tools, applying firmware and software updates as needed.
• Coordinate with outside vendors and contractors for AV equipment procurement, repair, installation, and preventive maintenance.
• Stay current with emerging conference room AV, event production, and unified communications (UC) technology trends and recommend improvements to existing systems.

What We're Looking For

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in IT/AV support roles, with a focus on conference room and meeting-space AV support.
• Hands-on experience with the Logitech Rally line of products (cameras, speakers, mics, Rally Bar/Rally Bar Mini).
• Hands-on experience with Neat Bar Pro or similar all-in-one video bar systems.
• Experience configuring and troubleshooting Logitech scheduling displays/room schedulers.
• Strong, hands-on experience troubleshooting Google Meet hardware and software in a conference room and live event setting.
• Demonstrated ability to install and troubleshoot a conference room from the ground up — including mounting, cabling, configuration, and testing.
• Hands-on experience operating live event AV equipment, including video switchers (e.g., Blackmagic), audio mixing consoles, and streaming/recording encoders (e.g., Epiphan Pearl 2).
• Working experience with Q-SYS or similar audio DSP/control platforms in a live event or production environment.
