Applications will only be accepted while the posting remains active.Job Summary The Project Coordinator - Project Solutions provides project management skills for managing contractor projects. Manages the flow of material from the planning phase to the completion of each assigned project. Maintains the schedule of jobs being handled, maintains accurate database on current projects, and ensures required specifications are met for all jobs in progress. Actively participates in coordinating, analyzing, and acting upon information and feedback of customer needs, pricing, products, competition, and procedures. Obtains orders and provides order entry, expediting, pricing, follow-up, and other value-added services, as required.Responsibilities Essential Functions Works closely with Border States' Account Managers, Business Development Managers, Regional Managers, and sales staff to provide product management for the assigned projects to meet and exceed sales and gross profit objectives. Projects may deal with substations, power transmission, wind and solar energy, data Telco, HV industrial, commercial, or residential construction and industrial. Manages the flow of material from the award phase to the completion of each assigned project. Ensures quality customer support through expediting, pricing, follow-up, returns, and other services, as required. Provides customers with timely follow-up on technical inquiries and requests. Maintains the schedule of jobs being handled, maintains accurate database on current projects, and ensures required specifications are met for all jobs in progress. Organizes regular meetings to address concerns and provide valuable feedback, ensuring everyone is aligned with project goals. Oversees complex projects from award to completion, ensuring they meet all scope, timeline, and budget requirements. Manages and maintains comprehensive project documentation, including shipment schedules, financial summaries, and other customer-specific project records to ensure accuracy, accessibility, and alignment with project objectives. Maintains a high level of teamwork and communication in ensuring a balanced workload within the team. Completes project group job form with customer information for each project handled. Consistently provides responsive, quality service to our customers. Actively participates in coordinating, analyzing, and acting upon information and feedback of customer needs, pricing, products, competition, and procedures. Provides assistance in purchasing functions, product evaluations, inventory management, pricing development, and other related services. Responsible for the completion of each assigned project. Obtains orders and provides order entry, expediting, pricing, follow-up, and other value-added services, as required. Coordinates with the Credit and Collections team to resolve customer-billing problems resulting from errors in the quotations process, pricing, shipping, deliver or other customer service/credit areas. Non-essential Functions May develop and follow up on quotations for customers within the company profit objectives and guidelines. Responsibilities may include overseeing all or some of the following; product application and support, estimating, procurement, material management, staging, kitting, storage, job site delivery, back hauling, and project close out. May assist with negotiating with vendors for best pricing and best delivery of products to customers and/or jobsites May be required to consult with engineers and developers on given projects. May be responsible for calls on customer accounts and actively seek to develop new accounts to secure orders and generate sales of products and services. May perform material takeoff of bids that could include products such as wire and cable, transformers, splices, terminations, switchgear, apparatus, and specialty equipment. Provides customers with timely follow-up on technical inquiries and requests. May develop quotations and request bid/performance bonds for customers within company profit objectives and guidelines. Contacts vendors for pricing, as needed. Attends training programs, as required. May assist with trade shows, as needed. Qualifications Bachelor's in business or trade degree preferred or the equivalent in work experience. 2 years of prior customer service, quotation, or sales experience with strong knowledge of electrical products and utility systems preferred. Comprehensive knowledge of product lines and applications, alternate product substitutes, and supplier pricing policies preferred. Strong working knowledge of PC for Windows, Microsoft Office (Excel, Word and PowerPoint), internet, email, and SAP software preferred. Skills and Abilities Technical ability to understand electrical systems and product applications with prior electrical distribution experience preferred. Technical ability to read specifications and drawings highly preferred. Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication, reading, and customer service skills are preferred with the ability to effectively plan and organize and work well on a team. Excellent customer service skills include being competent, accurate, responsive, and engaged. Daily variations can occur depending on the volume and type of customer orders; volume of incoming product received; the weather; and the needs of Border States and its customers. The pay range for this position is $32.94 per hour to $42.40 per hour, depending on experience.
