Food Service Manager/Head Cook - Southold, NY

Food Service Manager/Head Cook oversees all food preparation and service operations, ensures compliance with NYSDOH regulations, and maintains inventory and expenses. Job Responsibilities Supervises all food preparation and service operations. Assists with the selection of cooks and kitchen assistants. Develops weekly menus and meals that are nutritionally complete and accommodate special dietary needs or restrictions. Procures food and supplies and monitors expenses. Maintains inventory of all kitchen materials and equipment, submits orders for replacement when needed. Schedules and supervises kitchen assistants and cooks. Ensures food preparation, service and storage comply with NYSDOH regulations. Required Qualifications Minimum age of 18 years as required by the NYS Department of Health. Current Suffolk County Department of Health Food Manager Certificate. 1-2 years of experience with increasing responsibility in a kitchen. Knowledge of generally accepted nutrition guidelines. Ability to operate commercial kitchen equipment. Ability to lift 20-50 lbs. Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends. Preferred Qualifications Training or education as a chef or cook. Experience as a camp cook. Position Details Salary: $15,000 - $22,000 per season. Schedule: EXEMPT – TEMP: June 1, 2026 – August 27, 2026. No relocation or VISA sponsorship available.
