Chief of Pediatric Urology
A Leadership Opportunity to Build, Transform, and Define the Future of Pediatric Urologic Care /A System Built for the Future of Pediatric Urology Across the United States, the future of pediatric urologic care will be defined by leaders who can integrate clinical excellence, academic innovation, and meaningful access to care. WVU Medicine is uniquely positioned to lead that future-and we are seeking a visionary physician to serve as our next Chief of Pediatric Urology. This role is designed for a physician leader who is driven not only by clinical excellence, but by the opportunity to build a program that advances access, elevates outcomes, and delivers meaningful impact for children and families across a multi-state region. As Chief, you will lead the strategic development and clinical integration of Pediatric Urology services across the WVU Medicine network. You will partner closely with institutional leadership to expand subspecialty capabilities, optimize care delivery models, and further integrate pediatric urologic services within a multidisciplinary framework. This includes alignment with pediatric surgery, nephrology, oncology, and broader women's and children's services-ensuring comprehensive, coordinated care for complex conditions. This is a role for a builder and a leader-someone who thrives in an environment where growth, innovation, and collaboration are not just encouraged, but expected. You will play a central role in recruiting and mentoring faculty, expanding the clinical footprint, and supporting the development of APP teams to enhance access and continuity of care. - MD or DO degree (or foreign equivalent) with eligibility for an unrestricted state medical license
- Completion of an ACGME accredited Urology residency and fellowship training in Pediatric Urology; must be board-certified or board-eligible
- All clinical and credentialing requirements met prior to appointment
- Demonstrated commitment to delivering exceptional, compassionate, and family-centered pediatric care
- Proven ability to lead within a collaborative, multidisciplinary team environment, fostering alignment across physicians, APPs, and clinical staff
- Experience building or expanding clinical programs, with a focus on access, growth, and sustainability
- Track record of advancing clinical quality, patient outcomes, and safety initiatives
- Ability to balance strategic vision with clinical excellence, serving as both a leader and practicing physician
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage, inspire, and develop teams
- Commitment to academic advancement, education, and/or research, consistent with WVU Medicine's academic mission
- Build and expand a premier pediatric urology program
- Define clinical strategy and programmatic growth
- Recruit, mentor, and develop faculty and trainees
- Advance surgical innovation, outcomes research, and education
- Strengthen integration between pediatric and adult urology services
