About the Role
The Company is seeking an Executive Director of Development for the Statler College of Engineering and Mineral Resources. The successful candidate will serve as the lead development officer for the College, managing a comprehensive major gift program and providing strategic leadership for the advancement team. This role involves close collaboration with the College Dean, faculty, and staff to align advancement activities with program priorities. The Executive Director will be responsible for fundraising leadership, including managing a portfolio of major and principal gift donors, and will be expected to demonstrate the core values of the Foundation. Essential functions include supervising and mentoring development staff, maintaining a working knowledge of the College and University, and ensuring effective representation of all opportunities for private support. Candidates for this position should have a bachelor’s degree (master’s preferred) and a minimum of 7 years' of direct experience in major/planned gift fundraising, with a proven track record of managing direct reports. The role requires a deep understanding of the principles of advancement in a university environment, the ability to build trusting partnerships, and excellent communication skills. The Executive Director will be expected to work in a highly self-directed, proactive manner, and to thrive in a team environment. Proficiency in donor management systems and the Microsoft Office Suite is essential. The position also involves air travel and may require a flexible work environment.
