Shift: 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM

Experience:

• 24 months of experience with 3 months worked in the last 12 months.

• 24 months of Telemetry Unit experience with 12 months worked in the last 3 years.

• 3 months of Cerner experience is preferred.

• Trauma Level 1 experience is required within the last 3 years.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have a Arizona license or compact license (required for submission).

• This role may require floating to additional units and locations

• Travel only, local not allowed. Candidates must live >50 miles from facility to be submitted.

Required Credentials: Must pass a Basic Dysrhythmia/EKG exam during onboarding within 2 attempts; passing score 80%.

Special Requests: Any employment gaps greater than 30 days must be explained. Cannot have worked at any CommonSpirit location within the last 12 months. Cannot apply to more than one job order on the same unit and shift at the facility.

Unit Details: Observation/Telemetry unit with centrally monitored telemetry; RNs read strips. CPAP used at night; BiPAP and high flow may be used on the unit and are managed by RT. RNs titrate drips including diltiazem, heparin, and amiodarone. SWAT RN available for difficult IV sticks. Common patient population includes chest pain, syncope, api, chole, hand surgeries, fundoplications, OB/GYN post-ops, and s/p trauma observation patients. High-turnover unit; half to the entire floor may turn over in a day. Charge nurse may carry 1-3 patients when short staffed.

Shift & Scheduling: 3 weekend shifts in a 4-week period. Holidays work into rotation. Schedule is released 4 weeks in advance and may change based on unit needs. Staff can be placed on standby; RNs are notified at least 1.5 hours before shift start and must report within 1 hour if called in.

Floating Requirements: First to float. May float to MedSurg/Tele floors, Westgate Campus, and AZ General Laveen with 1-2 hours notice before shift; floating may occur mid-shift.

Facility holidays: 11/26/2026, 12/25/2026, 01/01/2027. Number of holidays allowed off: 1. Start assignment restriction: 14 days
