Medical Assistant I Certified- Ultrasound (Day 40)

Requisition #:660716 Location: Johns Hopkins Hospital, Baltimore, MD 21287 Category: Allied Health/Clinical Professional Schedule: Day Shift Employment Type: Full Time Overview The Johns Hopkins Hospital Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) displays responsible behaviors, communicates effectively, and functions as a member of the healthcare team. The CMA works under the direct supervision and authority of the physician when performing clinical tasks during patient care. The CMA reports to the clinic manager, who is responsible for administrative supervision, staff development, and orientation of the CMA to the area’s policies and procedures. The CMA maintains an inventory of examination/procedure room supplies, assists in organizing efficient patient flow, and prepares the clinic environment to assure patient safety. The CMA participates in medication and procedure education for patients and families by providing brochures and literature and may administer meds as ordered by provider. The CMA records care provided in the patient medical record. Primary Responsibilities Procedure assistance and time‑out documentation Performing mean arterial blood pressures for preeclampsia screening patients and entering research data Clinic supply ordering and inventory maintenance, including removal of expired supplies Transporting reusable surgical equipment to/from central sterile Chaperoning for transvaginal ultrasound exams and occasionally assisting with transporting patients to/from L&D Will not perform blood draws or enter documentation in EPIC Shift Full Time (40 hours). Day Shift, 8:30 am – 5:00 pm (may vary slightly depending on location). No weekends. Education High school diploma or equivalent required Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant training program for new medical assistants Licensure/Certification Completion of CMA certification with credentials of RMA, NCMA, NRCMA, CCMA or CMAA required prior to hire Valid BLS CPR certification required (AHA, Red Cross, or military training network) Work Experience Ideal candidate will have at least 1 year of CMA experience, with ultrasound work experience Salary Minimum $18.09 /hr – Maximum $29.87 /hr.
