This position carries out responsibilities in the following functional areas: benefits administration, retirement plan administration, employee relations, training, performance management, onboarding and offboarding, policy implementation, recruitment, employment law compliance & record keeping and also serves as a backup to payroll functions.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesDay-to-day administration of the Human Resources DepartmentBenefits administration through ADP Workforce Now401k administration through ADP & EmpowerEmployee onboarding and New Hire OrientationAbility to provide high-quality advice and service to management on daily employee relations and performance management issuesAssists in the evaluation of reports, decisions and results of department in relation to established goalsMaintains electronic employee files and HRIS systemMaintains compliance with all applicable federal, state and local and benefits laws and regulationsPerforms all other duties as assignedBenefits Support:Provide support to employees relating to employee benefits programs, including health, dental, vision, retirement, and other benefitsReconciliation of monthly billing and processing of paymentsDevelop relationships with brokers and other service providers as neededAssess and escalate risks to the HR Director and/or CHROAttend all benefits-related conference callsProvide guidance and support to employees on benefits-related questions and issuesProvide guidance and support to employees on 401k related questions and issuesOnboarding:Manage the end-to-end onboarding process in ADP Workforce Now, from creation of job requisitions to offer and New Hire OrientationPrepare and distribute onboarding materials and welcome packages.Participate and present benefits materials during New Hire OrientationAnswer employee questions regarding company policies, procedures, and benefits.HRIS Management:Assist with maintaining the company's HRIS system (ADP Workforce Now) ensuring data accuracy and integrityAssist with benefits data analysis and reporting from the HRISIdentify opportunities to improve the HRIS system and streamline HR processesMaintain electronic employee files and HRIS system to support the overall businessEstablish and monitor carrier connectionsGeneral HR Support:Provide backup support to weekly payroll processingProvide guidance and support to employees regarding HR policies and proceduresCollaborate with other HR team members to ensure effective HR operationsMaintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretionQualifications – RequiredStrong communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills. Must have the ability to effectively communicate with employees and management at all levels.Mid-level skills in Excel utilizing simple formulas and creating spreadsheets.Strong organizational skillsAbility to maintain a high level of confidentialityAbility to interpret and adhere to compliance updatesProblem-solving and conflict resolution skills – addressing employee concerns and resolving conflicts promptlyKnowledge of multi-state labor laws and regulations.Familiarity with the unique challenges and needs of a manufacturing workplaceMinimum of 5 years applicable work experience in HR, benefits, recruiting and onboarding experienceBachelor's degree in human resources, business or related field.
