Mechanical Assembler

Job Title: Mechanical Assembler 4 10 hour days M-Thurs 6 am-4:30 pm plus OT

Job Description

This role focuses on assembling mechanical components and sheet metal cabinets to build ECU units in a manufacturing environment. You will follow detailed written and verbal work instructions, use a variety of hand and power tools, and ensure each unit meets quality and safety standards. The position requires strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and a commitment to working cooperatively with supervisors and co-workers.

Responsibilities

• Assemble sheet metal cabinets and frames by joining components with pop rivets, rivnuts, and various hardware.

• Install coils, compressors, motors, blowers, fans, and other components into ECU units according to work instructions and mechanical drawings.

• Use basic hand and power tools, including wrenches, to perform mechanical assembly tasks safely and efficiently.

• Read and interpret measuring devices such as tape measures and calipers to ensure accurate cuts, alignments, and fits.

• Follow detailed written and verbal work instructions, schematics, blueprints, and mechanical drawings to complete a wide variety of units.

• Support assembly line operations by performing repetitive and varied mechanical assembly tasks as needed.

• Handle basic wiring and brazing tasks as required by specific assemblies, following safety and quality standards.

• Maintain a clean and organized work area and handle tools and equipment properly.

• Communicate effectively with supervisors and co-workers to clarify instructions, report issues, and support continuous workflow.

• Demonstrate consistent attendance, punctuality, flexibility, cooperation, and integrity in daily work.

• Adhere to all safety rules, operating procedures, and maintenance instructions while performing job duties.

• Document work as required, including routine reports or basic correspondence related to assembly activities.

Essential Skills

• Experience in manufacturing assembly, including mechanical assembly work.

• Ability to read and use a tape measure and other measuring devices such as calipers.

• Proficiency with basic hand and power tools, including wrenches and other common tools used in industrial assembly.

• Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, schematics, blueprints, and detailed work instructions.

• Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to assemble sheet metal components and frames.

• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence as needed.

• Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to other employees and stakeholders.

• Basic math skills, including the ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.

• High school diploma, GED, or higher level of education.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of York, PA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $20.00/hr.
