Job Description\n American Traveler is seeking a travel nurse RN PICU - Pediatric Intensive Care for a travel nursing job in Shreveport, Louisiana.Job Description & Requirements\n \n Specialty: PICU - Pediatric Intensive Care\n Discipline: RN\n Start Date: 10/12/2026\n Duration: 13 weeks\n 36 hours per week\n Shift: 12 hours, nights\n Employment Type: Travel\n \n Assignment Overview\n \n Shift: Nights, 3x12hrs\n Hours: 36 hrs/wk\n Start Date: Oct 12, 2026\n Length: 13 weeks\n Openings: 1\n Description\n American Traveler is hiring a Pediatric ICU RN for a night shift assignment requiring PALS certification and at least 1 year of PICU experience.Details\n \n Pediatric ICU unit with 8 rooms and an average census of 5 patients\n 1:2 nurse-to-patient ratio\n Night shift schedule (3x12 hours), 18:45 to 07:15\n Floating required to other pediatric units and NICU as needed\n 2 weekend rotations per month\n Uses Epic EMR\n Specialized equipment includes ventilators, Alaris IV pumps, cooling blankets, cardiac monitoring, high-frequency oscillatory vents, PCA pumps, EEG ICP & BIS monitoring, and EVD systems\n Requirements\n \n Active RN license (LA state or Compact) required\n Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and PALS (AHA certifications required)\n Minimum 1 year of PICU experience required\n Epic EMR experience required\n Additional Information\n \n Provide critical care nursing to pediatric patients in a PICU setting\n May be assigned to an Emergency Team requiring the traveler to remain onsite or serve as part of a relief team during emergency events\n Required to work 2 of 4 designated holiday periods annually: Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's\n Royal blue scrubs required\n First-time travelers are welcome to apply\n Must reside 65+ miles from the facility to be eligible for the travel assignment\n \n \n American Traveler Job ID #P-757647.
