Nursing Assistant

The Inpatient Facility Nursing Assistant is responsible for personal care and related services following a plan of care established by clinical supervision.

Qualification Requirements

• Listed as a CNA with DHSR, as evidence by successfully completed training and has not had a lapse of 24 consecutive months where the aid has not provided services for compensation
• High School diploma or GED preferred
• Must be physically competent to perform delegated tasks necessary to good patient care and as indicated in patient's plan of care
• Must be dependable and capable of dealing pleasantly and tactfully with patient, family, staff and the public
• Experience preferred
• Qualification for NA II
• Certified Nursing Assistant II currently listed with the North Carolina Board of Nursing

Essential Functions

• Abides by and supports 3HC's Compliance Program and Code of Ethics
• Creates positive experiences for internal and external customers
• NA I: Administers personal care and hygiene by following established care plan
• NA II: Administers personal care and hygiene by following established care plan
• Acts as a facilities preceptor for new employees
• Immediately reports and records changes in the patient's mental or physical condition to supervisor
• Demonstrates proficiency in donning/doffing PPE and verbalizes knowledge of circumstances demanding PPE
• Completes document via EMR each shift
• Completes housekeeping tasks
• Works assigned shifts and holidays as scheduled
• Employs Hoyer lift for movement/care of bariatric patients
• Demonstrates an interest in personal and professional growth for self and staff
• Demonstrates a willingness to be cost effective in the use of agency resources
• Adheres to 3HC's Personnel Policy and performs other appropriate duties as assigned by supervisor
