We are looking for an Accounting Clerk to join a team in Akron, Ohio in a part-time, Contract to permanent role. This position is well suited for someone who enjoys balancing payroll, billing, and payables work while keeping financial records accurate and organized. The role offers flexible scheduling within a 24 to 30 hour workweek and is ideal for a detail-oriented candidate with hands-on accounting support experience.
Responsibilities:• Process weekly payroll for a workforce of up to 50 employees, ensuring hours and earnings are calculated accurately and submitted on time.
• Review and reconcile employee time entries and timecards within the designated application to resolve discrepancies before payroll is finalized.
• Prepare and issue weekly customer billings, maintaining accuracy and proper supporting documentation.
• Manage change order updates and ensure billing records reflect revised project or service details.
• Handle accounts payable tasks, including entering invoices, verifying details, and supporting timely payment processing.
• Maintain organized financial records and perform data entry activities to support daily accounting operations.
• Use accounting and billing software to track transactions, update records, and assist with routine reporting.
• Support accounting processes related to receivables, invoice handling, and other clerical finance functions as needed.• At least 2 years of experience in an accounting clerk or related accounting support position.
• Practical experience processing full-cycle payroll, including manual payroll activities.
• Working knowledge of accounts receivable functions, accounts payable support, and invoice processing.
• Experience with QuickBooks and confidence using accounting software in a daily workflow.
• Familiarity with Foundation Software, AIA billing, or similar construction-related billing platforms.
• Intermediate Excel skills, including the ability to organize data, review figures, and maintain accurate spreadsheets.
• Strong attention to detail with accurate data entry skills and the ability to manage multiple deadlines in a part-time schedule.
