Benefits Coordinator

We are looking for a Benefits Administrator who will manage the day-to-day administration of employee benefits programs, ensure compliance with applicable policies and regulations, and serve as a key point of contact for employees with benefits and leave-related questions for a San Diego non-profit. This role requires strong organizational skills, confidentiality, and a commitment to supporting employees in a compassionate and professional manner.Key ResponsibilitiesAdminister employee benefits programs, including health, dental, vision, life, disability, retirement, and wellness offerings.Support employee enrollments, changes, and terminations in benefits systems.Serve as the primary contact for employee questions regarding benefits eligibility, coverage, and claims issues.Coordinateleave of absence support, including FMLA, ADA, parental leave, medical leave, personal leave, and other applicable leave programs.Track leave requests, required documentation, approvals, return-to-work dates, and benefit continuation while employees are on leave.Partner with Human Resources, payroll, and external vendors to ensure accurate deductions, billing, and leave administration.Maintain benefits records and prepare reports related to enrollments, audits, and compliance.Assist with open enrollment planning, employee communications, and benefits education.Ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, and local regulations related to benefits and leave administration.Support ongoing process improvements and special projects within the HR function.
