Step into a rewarding role as an Intervention Specialist supporting high school students in a drop-out recovery program. This contract position is full-time and is suited for educators who are passionate about making a significant difference in the lives of learners. The position is open to both onsite and virtual instruction options (VOCO), offering flexibility as you help students achieve their educational goals. The main focus will be on empowering students to overcome academic challenges and succeed in a supportive high school environment.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid Special Education Teacher certification with experience or eligibility to serve as an Intervention Specialist
- Background in providing services to high school students, including those at risk of dropping out
- Strong knowledge of IEP development, progress monitoring, and implementation
- Ability to collaborate effectively with families, staff, and multidisciplinary teams
- Comfortable with technology to support virtual instruction if needed
- Effective communication and organizational skills
Responsibilities:
- Provide targeted interventions and specialized instruction to high school students within the drop-out recovery program
- Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
- Maintain accurate documentation and timely reporting of student progress
- Adapt curriculum and teaching strategies to meet diverse learning needs
- Collaborate with teachers, counselors, and support staff to ensure inclusive practices
- Foster a positive, supportive learning environment that encourages student engagement and growth
