Senior Accountant

Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to join their team on a temporary-to-hire basis. This position will play a key role in supporting the accounting and finance functions, including month-end close, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and system-related initiatives. The ideal candidate will have nonprofit accounting experience, strong technical accounting skills, and advanced Excel capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and support the month-end close process, ensuring accuracy and timely completion.
• Prepare financial analyses and reporting to support organizational decision-making.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities.
• Serve as a backup resource for HR and payroll-related projects as needed.
• Support the organization's ERP system transition from ADP to Sage Intacct.
• Create, maintain, and improve financial reports using advanced Excel functions, including Pivot Tables and VLOOKUPs.
• Collaborate with accounting, finance, HR, and administrative teams to support operational objectives.
• Assist with process improvements and system enhancements related to accounting and financial reporting.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
• Experience in nonprofit accounting is required.
• Proven experience with month-end close processes.
• Strong Excel skills, including pivot tables and VLOOKUPs.
• Experience working with enterprise accounting systems.
• Sage Intacct experience strongly preferred. Candidates without Sage Intacct experience must have worked with other robust accounting systems beyond QuickBooks.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Experience supporting ERP implementations, upgrades, or system conversions.
• Budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis experience.
