Travel Respiratory Therapist - Registered RT/RRT

American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist for a day shift travel assignment at a tertiary, teaching, Level 1 trauma hospital, requiring RRT certification and 3+ years of experience.

Job Details

• Respiratory Therapy department covering the entire facility with a team of 14-16 RRTs,
• Patient ratios of 1:25 for acute care and 1:8 for critical care,
• Utilizes ventilators including Drager V500 and VN500, Hamilton T1 and C1, Respironics V30 and V60, Trilogy line, Airvo, and Vapotherm,
• EPIC EMR system used,
• Day shift schedule from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM,
• 36 guaranteed weekly hours,
• On-call requirements with 2-hour response time for oncoming shift,
• Floating required as RRT to NICU/PICU, acute care pediatrics, ED, and adult acute and critical care,
• 25-mile float policy between facilities as needed,

Job Requirements

• Active RRT license required (License required if applicable),
• Minimum 2-3 years of experience required,
• BLS required, ACLS preferred,
• NRP required for NICU coverage,
• Tertiary, teaching hospital experience required,
• Level 1 trauma experience required,
• NICU/PICU and cardiothoracic experience preferred,
• Prior travel experience preferred,
• EPIC EMR experience,
• Driver's License required for consideration,
• Two professional references required,

Additional Information

• Provide respiratory therapy services across a varied patient population in a tertiary, teaching, Level 1 trauma hospital setting,
• Work as part of a large respiratory therapy team supporting multiple units including surgical ICU and IMC units,
• Flexible, team-oriented candidates with strong communication skills are preferred,
• Scrubs provided or flexible dress code,
• First-time travelers may be considered,
• Local candidates within 90 miles of any facility in the health system will be considered local and are not eligible for renewal or extension of contract,
• Candidates who have worked at any facility within the health system in the past 12 months should disclose this during the application process,
• Requested time off should be minimal, with 3-4 days considered reasonable for a 13-week contract at manager's discretion,
• Air pods, laptops, and cell phone usage prohibited on the unit
