Pay Range : Approximately $55/hour

Work Model: 100% Remote

Positional Overview

Our client is seeking an experienced Business Systems Analyst V to support critical debit card processing platforms and payment systems within a high-volume enterprise banking environment.

This role will partner closely with business and technology teams to analyze production issues, document functional requirements, support system enhancements, coordinate testing efforts, and provide production support across complex transaction-processing applications.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in debit/card processing , mainframe environments , and real-time transaction systems , with the ability to trace issues across multiple integrated platforms while producing high-quality technical documentation and functional specifications.

Role & Responsibility:

Tasks That Will Lead To Your Success

• Analyze and document business and functional requirements for complex payment processing initiatives.
• Create functional specifications, test plans, test cases, and support end-to-end testing activities.
• Investigate production issues and perform root cause analysis across multiple integrated systems.
• Trace end-to-end debit card transaction flows through authorization, routing, settlement, and reconciliation processes.
• Partner with business stakeholders, development teams, and vendors to support application enhancements and production support activities.
• Validate transaction processing using SQL queries and production data analysis.
• Coordinate system integration efforts and assist with data mapping across multiple applications.
• Support batch processing, reconciliation, and ETL workflows.
• Produce technical documentation, meeting notes, functional designs, and implementation support materials.
• Assist with production releases, issue resolution, and post-implementation support.
• Participate in system modernization initiatives and platform enhancements.
• Serve as a functional subject matter expert for assigned applications while mentoring junior analysts as needed.

Required Experience

• 6+ years of Business Systems Analysis, Business Analysis, or related technical experience.
• Strong experience supporting debit/card processing platforms such as:
• Postilion
• FIS
• Fiserv
• ACI
• or similar payment processing systems.
• Strong SQL experience for transaction analysis, validation, troubleshooting, and reporting.
• Experience supporting real-time transaction processing systems , authorization engines, or payment switches.
• Understanding of ISO 8583 or similar financial transaction messaging formats.
• Experience analyzing transaction flows across multiple integrated systems.
• Knowledge of batch processing, reconciliation, and ETL processes.
• Experience troubleshooting production issues across distributed systems.
• Experience working with APIs and system integrations.
• Familiarity with production log analysis and issue investigation.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, communication, and documentation skills.
• Experience producing technical documentation and functional specifications.
• Ability to manage multiple initiatives in a fast-paced enterprise environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supporting card management systems.
• Knowledge of ATM and POS transaction routing (Visa, STAR, NYCE, etc.).
• Experience working in mainframe environments , including:
• CICS
• TPX
• Batch processing
• Experience supporting high-volume, highly available transaction processing systems.
• Exposure to fraud detection platforms, rules engines, or risk scoring systems.
• Experience supporting platform modernization or migration initiatives, including parallel testing and production cutovers.
• Banking or financial services experience strongly preferred.
