Project Engineer - Civil Engineering (Land Development, PE Licensed)
Location: Newport Beach, CA (hybrid - up to 2 days in office; remote flexibility possible for the right candidate)
License Requirement: California Professional Engineer (PE) - Civil Engineering Degree Required
Our client is seeking a PE-Licensed Project Engineer specializing in land development to join their growing Civil Engineering team in Newport Beach, CA . This role will focus on the design, engineering, and management of land development projects , including commercial, mixed-use, and infrastructure developments. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in site planning, grading, stormwater management, permitting, and civil design while working closely with multidisciplinary teams.
Key Responsibilities- Manage all phases of land development projects , from concept design to final construction documents.
- Develop grading, drainage, and stormwater management plans in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations .
- Oversee site planning, permitting, and entitlement processes .
- Collaborate with architects, contractors, and government agencies to ensure seamless project execution.
- Utilize AutoCAD Civil 3D and other engineering software to prepare designs and documentation.
- Provide technical guidance to junior engineers and support staff.
- Ensure all projects are delivered on time and within budget while meeting regulatory requirements.
- California Professional Engineer (PE) license - REQUIRED
- Bachelors or Masters degree in Civil Engineering
- 5+ years of experience in civil engineering with a focus on land development
- Strong expertise in site design, grading, drainage, and stormwater management
- Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and other relevant engineering software
- In-depth knowledge of zoning laws, permitting processes, and local regulations
- Excellent project management, problem-solving, and communication skills
