Driving requirements may occasionally include driving a state vehicle to other DCF sites in the Central Region (Polk, Highlands, Hardee) during emergencies. Overnight travel may occasionally occur in the Suncoast Region during emergencies. The staff member will report to 400 W. Robinson St, Orlando, FL 32801 Monday - Friday 8-5 at their own expense. Any travel from that location will be on a state vehicle and include gas, tolls, and maintenance. If an overnight is required, hotel is included, and meals or reimbursement is provided.

Work environment involves a wide range of responsibilities. You are the first and often the only representative of General Services, so it is important to conduct yourself and your business in a courteous and respectful manner. This is a responsible position, and you are expected to work independently, keeping your supervisor and team leaders informed of situations and reporting updates accordingly. You will perform many duties, and if you have an open mind and can manage your time, this job can be very rewarding. You will be working with the best DCF team in the state.

Candidate responsibilities include:

• Maintaining and accounting for Personal Protection Equipment and DSNAP inventory and distribution systems.
• Compliance with CFOP 40-2 Vehicle Management, maintaining your state vehicle and other state vehicles, and submitting the monthly logs in a timely manner.
• Maintaining the ERV (Emergency Response Vehicles & Trailers)
• Assisting the MASC with day to day needs and witnessing the destruction of mail on a weekly basis.
• Assisting with internal and external moves for the department.
• Making keys for employees who request them and managing a log of who has one.
• Managing the keycard system for several sites.
• Disposing of surplus materials and furniture in accordance with CFOP 80-2.
• Supplying employees with furniture and desks as needed.
• Installing whiteboards, corkboards, and pictures across the region in offices and hallways.
• Being prepared with hand dollies and necessary tools to get the job done and being responsible for equipment/tools issued to you.
• Assisting with IT with equipment move and when a large move is taking place.
• Using the correct hand dollies to move very large and very heavy items such as filing cabinets and desks and following CFOP 215-4 Safety & Loss Control.
• Ensuring everything is operating as it should be at facilities, AC/Lights/Etc. so that employees can work comfortably.
• Learning many different areas, where to go, and who to see. GPS is your friend!
• Introducing yourself professionally at each site you go to and giving them a business card. Creating a directory will benefit you, as you will always have a point of contact for the site you're visiting.
• Maintaining the warehouse and keeping it neat and tidy, and keeping all aisles clear. When you need to order supplies or request a PO for keys, ask as soon as possible, because the process can take a while. Never authorize services without a purchase order.
• When the state of Florida is impacted by a hurricane, assisting with Disaster Management to prepare our facilities and assets for the event and recovery efforts.
• Ensuring all sites have no safety issues before leaving. All safety issues need to be dealt with immediately.
• When someone is trespassing on state property, asking them to leave. If they refuse, call 911 and immediately inform Alleyn Tanner and Billy Ramos.
• Transferring surplus IT equipment to the Wildwood warehouse.
• Conducting site inspections as directed across the region.

Required skills include:

• Ability to speak and understand English
• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent
• Must have a valid Florida Drivers License and reliable transportation
• Must be able to pass a level 2 background screening and clear MVR
• Ability to conduct yourself and your business in a courteous respectful manner
• Ability to work independently
• Must have excellent communication skills
• Ability to follow directives from supervisor and team leaders
• Experience in supply/warehouse management
• Experience maintaining a fleet of vehicles
• Ability to use handcarts and hand dollies moving heavy furniture and office equipment
• Experience with OSHA and safety regulations
• Experience conducting facility site inspections
• Experience with IT equipment
• Ability to assist with Disaster Management preparing facilities and assets for event and recovery efforts
• Familiar with Central Florida regions and GPS
• Ability to lift up to 50lbs
