Managing Director, New York

the client is seeking a strategic Managing Director to lead and scale its work in New York City. This role is responsible for strategic direction, programmatic excellence, resource development, and the sustainable growth of the organization’s local presence. The Managing Director will champion the organization’s mission in the community, expand reach through strong relationships with relevant stakeholder groups, and engage diverse Jewish audiences in impactful service aligned with Jewish values. The ideal candidate is passionate about the intersection of Jewish values, young adult engagement, and service, and is expected to bring seasoned leadership experience with a proven record in team management, program development, and fundraising. The role requires exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, the ability to inspire and manage a growing team, and the ability to navigate the complexities of the New York City landscape. The Managing Director is also expected to build impactful partnerships and drive significant social impact through service and learning. Key responsibilities include developing and implementing a comprehensive program strategy centered on Jewish service programs, ensuring Jewish educational pedagogy is consistently infused across offerings, and aligning local program strategy with the organization’s mission and values. The Managing Director will assess program effectiveness, gather feedback, and make data-driven adjustments to improve impact, outreach, and participation, while also creating a plan for geographic expansion across New York City by identifying new neighborhoods, communities, and partners. The role further includes leading local fundraising efforts and ongoing stakeholder engagement to support sustainable growth and community partnerships.
