DSV – Global Transport and Logistics – Manager (Operations Manager) Location: Aurora, IL Time Type: Full Time Position Summary Under the direction of the General Manager, the Operations Manager oversees day‑to‑day site operations including warehousing, receiving, shipping, and equipment management. The role involves planning inbound/outbound volume, managing space utilization, and ensuring compliance with service level agreements, quality, safety, and cost objectives. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Develop and implement systems and procedures for safe, profitable operations. Manage daily operations to meet productivity, service goals, and client SLAs. Lead continuous improvement initiatives and cost‑saving measures. Maintain client‑specified KPIs and quality system requirements. Staff management: hire, train, evaluate, coach, and discipline team members. Collaborate with HR on hiring, training, performance evaluation, and professional development. Communicate critical operational issues to senior management and client representatives. Plan work schedules based on orders, customer instructions, and resource availability. Reallocate space and adjust staffing to meet changing volume demands. Ensure SOP compliance, effective training, and performance monitoring. Conduct regular staff meetings to review work activities. Keep team motivated and focused on customer satisfaction. Support budgeting, costing, and financial performance tracking. Manage maintenance, security, housekeeping, and safety of facility and equipment. Promote a positive client relationship and lead meetings with key customers. Perform overtime as required and handle other duties as assigned. Supervise warehouse operations supervisors and support staff. Qualifications High school diploma or GED required; bachelor’s degree preferred. Minimum 7 years of logistics/distribution experience, 5 years in a supervisory role. Experience in warehousing, shipping, and transportation operations. Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and WMS systems. Strong communication, leadership, organizational, and problem‑solving skills. Ability to work in varying temperatures and work flexible schedules, including nights and weekends.
