• Experience: 2+ years recent ED experience; first-time travelers must have 2 years of perm staff RN experience in acute care

What You'll Do

• Provide high-quality emergency care to diverse patient populations, from newborns to geriatrics
• Manage an average of 85-95 patients per day, including MS, stroke, cardiac, trauma, and mental health cases
• Perform IV starts, continuous patient monitoring, and accurately identify patient severity to anticipate care needs
• Assist with assessments, treatments, and documentation using Meditech Expanse EMR system
• Collaborate with charge nurses, hospitalists, RTs, and phlebotomists to deliver seamless patient care
• Uphold safety and compliance standards, including passing an EKG competency exam prior to start
• Follow unit policies on orientation, holiday work, and schedule rotations, including every other weekend and 4/3 weekly shifts

What You Need

• Valid RN license in Louisiana or the ability to obtain one quickly
• Minimum of 2 years recent ER experience in an acute care setting
• Key skills in multitasking, patient assessment, and emergency procedures
• Ability to pass EKG competency exam and perform IV starts
• Preferred: Experience working in a fast-paced ED environment, strong communication skills, teamwork-oriented mindset
