Independent Claims Adjuster – Northern California Schifrin, Gagnon, & Dickey, Inc. is seeking a skilled and motivated Independent Claims Adjuster for the Sacramento, California area. Remote field‑based work is required, with on‑site inspections and in‑person client interactions across Sacramento and surrounding counties. Applicants must reside in and be able to travel locally within the Sacramento, California area. The role involves investigating, evaluating, and adjusting commercial trucking insurance claims from initial loss to final resolution. Responsibilities Evaluating insurance coverage and liability exposure. Conducting investigations, including interviews and recorded statements. Performing on‑site inspections, including cold calls, scene investigations, and vehicle inspections. Making informed claim adjustment recommendations. Preparing clear, detailed, and comprehensive reports. Maintaining control of a full caseload while meeting deadlines and compliance requirements. Qualifications Minimum of five (5) years of claims handling experience. Strong field investigation and inspection background preferred. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with diverse parties. Highly developed analytical and organizational skills. Ability to work independently and manage travel within assigned areas.
