Summary of Position
As an Accounting Clerk, you will play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring the smooth financial operations of our esteemed establishment.
Roles and Responsibilities
1. Perform daily financial transactions; full cycle accounts payable and purchasing duties
2. Reconcile and verify invoices, statements, payments and other financial documents.
3. Match invoices to purchase orders and receiving documents
4. Enter and code invoices into accounting system
5. Respond to vendor inquiries and maintain positive working relationships
6. Prepare and process electronic transfers, ACH payments and checks
7. Assist with month end closing by preparing accruals and reports
8. Collaborate with other departments to gather financial data and ensure accuracy in reporting.
9. Assist in conducting regular audits to identify and resolve discrepancies.
10. Support finance team with daily task and projects as needed
11. Perform ad hoc financial and administrative tasks as assigned.
12. Ensure compliance with accounting policies, procedures, and regulations.
13. Collaborate with external auditors during annual audits.
Qualifications
1. High School diploma or equivalent required; associates or bachelor's degree in accounting or related field preferred
2. Basic knowledge of Accounting is required
3. Proven experience as an Accounting Clerk or in a similar role.
4. 1-3 years of accounts payable experience required
5. Strong proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
6. Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
7. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
8. Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
9. Excellent communication skills and a professional demeanor.
10. Familiarity with hospitality industry accounting practices is a plus.
Physical Requirements
• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• Possible prolonged periods of standing.
• Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
