Accountant Senior

Scope of leadership role

The Senior Accountant is an important member of the Corporate Accounting & Consolidations Department. This role will be a key partner to the Corporate Accounting & Consolidations Manager during the daily activities in the department by analyzing transactions, preparing journal entries, and maintaining account reconciliations. This position will also be responsible for management of the stock compensation, medical allocation, and medical benefits processes.


Key Responsibilities

• Prepares, records, and tracks journal entries and general ledger reconciliations including stock and incentive compensation and medical benefits and expense. May also review journal entries performed by other team members.
• Works with payroll staff accountant to ensure all stock compensation and payroll related intercompany balances reconcile with global partners.
• Supports the monthly corporate close, including preparation and review of balance sheet and income statement accounts.
• Prepares the annual forecast for various LTI awards and partners with FP&A to ensure budgeted amounts are properly updated as needed.
• Prepares the annual forecast for health care expenses and partners with FP&A to ensure budgeted amounts are properly updated as needed.
• Prepares monthly heath care IBNR analysis and partner with HR/benefits team on the appropriateness of the respective accruals.
• Reviews reporting from third party financial services firm to ensure accuracy of data loaded inclusive of updated stock price, employee information, etc.
• Responds to inquiries from internal and external stakeholders regarding accounting policies or implications.
• Provides data as requested by the internal/external auditors and the financial reporting team.
• Works with the Corporate Accounting & Consolidations Manager to streamline and improve current accounting processes to facilitate the month end close and reconciliation processes.
• Performs tasks in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS

• B.S. in Accounting, Finance or related field or equivalent experience.
• CPA preferred
• 3 - 5 years of increasingly responsible accounting experience
• Public Accounting experience and/or Manufacturing experience desired
• Strong knowledge of GAAP
• Excellent verbal and written skills
• Blackline and OneStream experience is a plus
• Oracle and/or Systems implementation experience is a plus
