Shift: 12-hour Nights (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)

Hours/Week: 36-40

Employment Type: Contract/Travel RN

Certifications Needed: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, CPI or MOAB

Experience: Minimum 2 years ED experience; first-time travelers must have 2 years of perm staff RN experience in acute care

Hourly Pay Rate: $52.26/hr

What You'll Do

• Provide high-quality emergency care for patients across all acuity levels, including Trauma, Cardiac, Neuro, Ortho, and MedSurg cases
• Manage critical situations such as STEMI, stroke, sepsis, respiratory failure, and trauma
• Interpret cardiac rhythms, manage ventilators, and titrate critical care drips
• Assist with procedures like splinting, nurse-administered TPA, conscious sedation, and hemodynamic monitoring
• Collaborate with ED physicians, hospitalists, and support staff to ensure patient safety and care
• Document care accurately in Meditech Expanse EMR system
• Uphold professionalism, maintain patient safety, and contribute to a traveler-friendly environment

What You Need

• Valid Louisiana RN license or eligibility to obtain one
• At least 2 years of ED experience, with trauma and critical care skills preferred
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, CPI or MOAB
• Strong critical thinking, communication, and teamwork skills

About the Assignment Join a fast-paced, multispecialty emergency department with 29 beds that handles a wide range of medical emergencies, from trauma to complex medical cases. The unit supports a collaborative environment with in-house specialists and advanced equipment, including EMR, Alaris IV pumps, and Pyxis medication systems. Travel nurses will participate in orientation, work a flexible schedule—including weekend rotations—and enjoy a traveler-friendly culture that emphasizes professionalism.
