What You'll Do

• Provide high-quality emergency care to a diverse patient population from newborn to geriatric.
• Manage an average of 85-95 patient visits per day, including MS, stroke, cardiac, minor trauma, and mental health cases.
• Perform IV starts, patient monitoring, and quick assessment of patient severity.
• Collaborate effectively with charge nurses, hospitalists, RTs, and other team members.
• Adhere to EMR documentation processes using Meditech Expanse.
• Support unit efficiency, including patient holding and hall bed assignments.
• Follow hospital protocols for patient safety and care standards.

What You Need
Required:

• Valid RN license with at least 2 years of recent ED experience
• BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, PALS certifications
• Ability to pass an EKG competency exam
• Comfortable managing admitted patients and multitasking in a fast-paced environment

Preferred:

• Experience in trauma, stroke, cardiac, or mental health settings
• Previous travel or acute care experience

About the Assignment
This position is based in a high-volume emergency department with 21 beds, providing care for a wide range of acute conditions. The unit operates with a patient-to-nurse ratio of 1:3 and offers a traveler-friendly culture. You will be working on night shifts during a 5/2 rotation schedule, with some holidays required. The unit features modern equipment, including Meditech Expanse EMR, Alaris IV pumps, and Pyxis medication dispensing.
