What You'll Do

• Provide exceptional emergency care for a diverse patient population, including infants to end-of-life adults
• Manage patients with acuity levels ranging from MedSurg and Stepdown to ICU, including trauma stabilization
• Interpret cardiac rhythms, utilize ventilators, and manage critical care drips/titration
• Assist with advanced procedures such as stroke interventions and conscious sedation
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including hospitalist physicians and ED staff
• Document patient care accurately using Meditech Expanse EMR
• Support quick decision-making in high-pressure situations

What You Need
Required:

• Valid nursing license in Louisiana
• 2+ years of emergency or critical care nursing experience
• Certification in BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, CPI or MOAB
• Skills in ventilator management, cardiac rhythm interpretation, and critical care protocols

Preferred:

• Experience with stroke patient care and TPA administration
• Ability to pass an EKG competency exam
• Strong clinical judgment and team collaboration skills

About the Assignment
Join a unit known for its traveler-friendly culture and professional environment. You'll work in a 29-bed emergency department with a focus on high-quality patient care and efficient workflows. The hospital provides team support including charge nurses, in-house phlebotomy, RT, and hospitalist services available 24/7. Orientation includes hospital and unit-specific training, and scheduling involves every other weekend rotation with major holiday coverage. Flexibility in scheduling ensures a balanced work-life experience, with up to 7 days of RTO per contract.
