Accounting Associate (Hybrid)

Associate Accountant (Hybrid) - 6 months - Berkeley, CA - $35/hour We are seeking an Associate Accountant for a 6-month temporary assignment with Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory (LBNL), one of the nation's premier scientific research organizations. Location: Hybrid schedule based in Berkeley, CA Schedule: Full-time, Monday through Friday, 40 hours per week Dates: Mid-July through mid-January Pay rate: $35/hour Background Check: Clear criminal background check required Responsibilities: Support day-to-day accounting operations, including invoicing, accounts receivable, and payment processing Perform account reconciliations, journal entries, and month-end close activities Assist with financial reporting, analysis, and audit-related activities Research and resolve accounting discrepancies and process issues Partner with internal stakeholders to support business operations and improve financial processes Gain exposure to enterprise financial systems and a broad range of accounting functions Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience Knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting Experience working with spreadsheets and financial data Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently Experience with AP, AR, reconciliations, journal entries, or month-end close activities Knowledge of PeopleSoft financial applications a plus Federal accounting or auditing experience preferred Employment Type: Full Time Years Experience: 1 - 3 years Salary: $35 Hourly Bonus/Commission: No
