Peoria is a welcoming central Illinois community known for its scenic Illinois River setting, cultural attractions, outdoor recreation, and convenient access to metropolitan amenities.Travel Nursing Job Details\n \n Specialty: Emergency Department Registered Nurse (ED RN/ER RN)\n Location: Peoria, Illinois\n Healthcare Setting: Acute care, Level I Trauma emergency department\n Estimated Weekly Pay: $2,130–$2,250\n Start Date: October 12, 2026\n Assignment Length: 13 weeks, ending January 11, 2027\n Hours: 36 hours per week\n Shift: 12-hour nights, typically 7:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m.\n Weekend Schedule: Every other weekend\n Holiday Schedule: Every other holiday or as determined by department needs\n Call: No call requirement\n Electronic Medical Record: EPIC\n Uniform: Tasteful solid-color scrubs; no specific scrub color required\n Emergency Department RN Job Requirements\n \n Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in Illinois, or confirmation that the Illinois licensure process has been initiated\n At least 1 year of professional nursing experience; 2 years of emergency department experience preferred\n Prior travel nursing experience preferred\n Current BLS and ACLS certifications\n ENPC or PALS certification\n TNCC or TNS certification\n Strong emergency nursing assessment, triage, prioritization, and critical-thinking skills\n Ability to recognize and respond to life-threatening cardiac rhythms\n Demonstrated proficiency with vasoactive, cardiac, antihypertensive, and other critical-care medication infusions\n Ability to provide emergency nursing care for patients ranging from newborns to older adults, including critically ill and trauma patients\n Emergency Nursing Responsibilities\n \n Provide comprehensive emergency nursing care for patients with varying levels of acuity and a wide range of medical, surgical, cardiac, neurologic, and trauma complaints\n Assess, triage, stabilize, monitor, and reassess patients throughout the emergency care process\n Care for patients experiencing cardiac arrest, stroke, myocardial infarction, complex medical conditions, and traumatic injuries\n Support the care of Level I and Level II trauma patients after stabilization and transfer from the trauma bay\n Administer and titrate vasoactive, cardiac, antihypertensive, and other high-risk infusions according to clinical protocols\n Interpret cardiac monitoring and promptly identify and respond to life-threatening rhythms\n Collaborate with emergency physicians, advanced practice providers, respiratory therapy, radiology, emergency technicians, and other members of the interdisciplinary healthcare team\n Perform or assist with laboratory specimen collection and other emergency nursing procedures\n Manage patients requiring ventilators, CPAP, BiPAP, and high-flow oxygen therapy in collaboration with respiratory therapy\n Provide clear patient education, accurate EPIC documentation, and effective handoff communication\n Participate in department operations, including occasional help-all assignments when needed; emergency nurses are not expected to take a full team assignment on another unit\n \n Apply now to advance your travel nursing career as an Emergency Department Registered Nurse in Peoria, Illinois.
