About this Role Under direction from the Section Chief, the Supervisor I is responsible for the Contracts Unit 1, which serves as the contract liaison between contractors and the Contracts and Fiscal Section (CFS) and Federal Grants Branch (FGB), as well as between CFS, FGB, and the Department of Health Care Services (DHCS) Contracts Services Branch (CSB). The Supervisor I plans, organizes, and directs the work of staff who assist in developing, operationalizing, and administering federal grant‑funded services and programs to reduce the prevalence of mental health and substance use disorder through prevention, treatment, and recovery activities. Duties also include monitoring contractors and grant‑funded programs to ensure compliance with project, contract, plan, and agreement requirements; developing policies and procedures; providing training and administrative support as needed; and managing travel up to 25% of the time, including occasional overnight stays. Minimum Requirements Supervisor I classification as defined in the official Class Specification.
