Position Overview
We are looking for compassionate and dedicated RNs/LPNs to provide exceptional hospice care during extended weekend hours. This position is ideal for a nurse who is passionate about supporting patients and families and helping them navigate the end-of-life journey with comfort, dignity, and compassion.
Schedule & Service Area- Part-time weekend position
- Saturday and Sunday
- 6:00 AM–6:00 PM
- Driving position serving patients throughout Columbus
- Must be comfortable driving in varying weather and road conditions
- Weekend availability is required
- Provide individualized nursing care using the nursing process, including assessment, care planning, interventions, implementation, and evaluation.
- Assess patient needs and respond appropriately to changes in condition.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, caregivers, and interdisciplinary team members.
- Provide compassionate care focused on comfort, dignity, and quality of life.
- Maintain professional nursing standards and follow hospice care practices.
- Complete accurate and timely clinical documentation.
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to support patient and family needs.
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
- Active Ohio RN or LPN license in good standing with no current board actions.
- BSN preferred for RN candidates.
- Two years of acute-care nursing experience preferred.
- Current CPR certification.
- Hospice and Palliative Care certification (CHPN) preferred. Certification opportunities and support are available to Ohio's Hospice employees.
- Computer skills sufficient to accurately document patient care and services.
- Valid driver's license with a safe driving record.
- Ability to maintain the state's minimum required automobile insurance coverage.
- Ability to drive during daytime hours and in inclement weather.
- Successful completion of a criminal background check.
- Successful completion of a 10-panel drug screening.
