HR Benefits SpecialistThe HR Benefits Specialist supports the day-to-day administration of employee benefits programs. This position assists employees with benefits questions and enrollment needs, maintains accurate benefit records, supports employee communications and educational initiatives, and assists with routine reporting, reconciliation, and compliance activities. The successful candidate will be organized, detail-oriented, service-focused, and comfortable managing multiple priorities and deadlines. This position works closely with the Director of Benefits, other members of the Benefits team, internal business partners, and benefit vendors.Job ResponsibilitiesAssist with the administration of employee benefits programs, including medical, dental, vision, flexible spending accounts, health savings accounts, life insurance, disability, retirement, wellness, and voluntary benefits.Respond to employee benefits questions in a timely and professional manner, researching issues and coordinating with benefit vendors or other internal teams when additional assistance is needed.Assist employees with benefit enrollment, qualifying life event changes, beneficiary updates, and general navigation of benefit systems and resources.Administer and maintain employee benefit election records in Workday, ensuring changes are entered accurately and supporting documentation is properly maintained.Assist with benefit invoice reviews and reconciliations by comparing vendor billing, employee elections, and payroll or general ledger information.Conduct benefits orientation sessions and help ensure the information is clear, engaging, and helpful to new employees.Partner with benefit vendors, Payroll, Accounting, HR Technology, and other internal teams to research and resolve benefit-related issues.Maintain the privacy and confidentiality of employees and health-related information in accordance with company policies and the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA).Perform other duties and support special projects as assigned.Job QualificationsEducation and CertificationsBachelor's Degree preferred in Human Resources or related field or equivalent work experience in benefits administration required, or equivalent combination of education, training, experience, or military experience.Benefits or HR certification (CEBS, PHR, SPHR, or SHRM) certification preferred.Work ExperienceMinimum two (2) years' experience in human resources, benefits administration, customer service, payroll, finance, or a related administrative role preferred.
