CNC Machinist - Mill/Lathe

Role Description the CNC Machinist – Mill/Lathe is a full-time, on-site role located in the Greater Phoenix Area. This role is responsible for setting up, operating, and monitoring CNC mills and lathes to produce precision components for POF-USA weapon systems according to engineering drawings and specifications. Day-to-day tasks include selecting appropriate tooling, loading materials, performing test runs, and adjusting machine settings to maintain tight tolerances. The machinist inspects finished parts, performs in-process quality checks, and documents measurements to ensure consistency and adherence to quality standards. Additional responsibilities include performing basic machine maintenance, reporting equipment issues, collaborating with engineers and production team members, and maintaining a clean, safe work area in accordance with company safety procedures. Qualifications Demonstrated proficiency in CNC Machine Operation and general Machinery handling in a production environment. Must be able to setup and operate CNC milling and/or CNC turning machines. Hands-on experience with Machining processes, including Milling and turning on CNC equipment. Strong focus on Quality Control, including the use of measurement tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and work instructions. Familiarity with basic G-code programming, offsets, and machine setup is preferred. Commitment to workplace safety and adherence to manufacturing best practices. Effective communication skills and ability to collaborate with production, engineering, and quality teams. Relevant vocational training, apprenticeship, or technical certification in machining or manufacturing is beneficial; prior experience in firearms or precision components manufacturing is a plus. Must be able to read and write English. Must be a U.S. Citizen. Must be willing to submit to and satisfactorily pass any pre-employment screening required for employment (i.e. drug screen, background check, eye exam, hearing exam, etc.) and any subsequent testing required for the position during employment. Essential Job Functions Read and interpret drawings/blueprints and setup sheets. Set-up tooling and fixtures on CNC equipment using Mastercam set-up documents. Establish origins of machine to fixture and machining of first part to blueprint requirements. Perform and record first piece inspection and fill out in-process inspection sheets. Make Adjustments / Edits Run production parts after first part approval per engineering drawings. Recognize, deploy, and properly use inserts, fixtures, and tooling. Perform in-process inspection and benching of part during machine cycle. Sustain production standards and optimize production for maximum output while maintaining quality and blueprint requirements. Monitor operations and quickly react to non-conformances as they occur. Operators will run more than one machine simultaneously. Identify and support continuous improvement efforts of production processes. Make accurate and detailed transactions of work done in ERP software. Adhere to company policies and procedures described in Employment Handbook. Perform daily and regular cleaning and light machine maintenance tasks on machinery and equipment.
