THE OPPORTUNITY

The Wire Operations Specialist is responsible for processing, monitoring, and supporting domestic and international wire transfer activities while ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements, operational controls, and service level expectations. This position supports the Wire Operations & Exceptions Management team by performing wire transfer processing, transaction monitoring, exception research and resolution, and related operational functions. The Wire Operations Specialist works closely with internal business partners, branch personnel, Treasury Management, and Wire Operations & Exceptions Management leadership to ensure the timely and accurate execution of wire transfers while maintaining compliance with applicable requirements, including OFAC, BSA/AML, and wire transfer regulations. Performs all duties in accordance with the Company’s policies and procedures, all U.S. state and federal laws and regulations, wherein the Company operates.

HOW YOU’LL MAKE A DIFFERENCE

Process domestic and international wire transfers, including USD and foreign currency transactions, through multiple payment systems, including SWIFT and the Federal Reserve. Perform client verification, callback procedures, and authentication reviews to validate wire instructions, identify discrepancies, and escal et suspicious activity or exceptions in accordance with Bank policies, fraud prevention controls, and regulatory requirements. Review, monitor, and reconcile wire transfer activity and operational reports to ensure accuracy, completeness, timely reporting, and compliance with internal controls and regulatory requirements. Conduct OFAC screening reviews and support the identification, escalation, and resolution of operational risks, suspicious activity, processing discrepancies, and control exceptions. Execute daily Start-of-Day and End-of-Day processing activities, maintain transaction records, process customer wire advice notifications, and perform data entry and verification across operational systems. Research and resolve wire transfer exceptions, processing issues, and transaction inquiries within established service levels while partnering with internal departments and branch personnel to deliver effective client support. Support audits, examinations, internal reviews, and compliance initiatives by providing accurate documentation and adhering to Bank policies, procedures, service standards, and operational controls. Follow all established policies and procedures. Perform other duties and projects as assigned.

WHAT YOU’LL BRING

Minimum one (1) year of banking operations, payment operations, wire transfer, or comparable financial services experience. Experience performing client callback verification and authentication procedures for wire transfers or other high-risk financial transactions. Knowledge of fraud prevention practices, transaction verification controls, and customer authentication requirements within a banking environment. Basic understanding of wire transfer processing, operational controls, and banking regulations. Basic accounting, balancing, and reconciliation experience. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Excel, and Word. Proficient data entry and keyboarding skills with a high degree of accuracy. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify and resolve transaction issues. Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy when processing high-volume transactions. Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills. Demonstrated ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a team environment. High school diploma or equivalent required.
