Registered Nurse (RN) – Medical Surgical / Telemetry

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Night Shift | Every other weekend required | Expected 3x12-hour shifts per week

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a Medical Surgical/Telemetry unit serving an adult population with a small volume of pediatric patients
• Manage a patient ratio of 5:1 across common diagnoses including post-surgical recovery, diabetes, heart failure, hypertension, generalized weakness, and cancer
• Operate and monitor telemetry equipment and IV pumps (Alaris) as part of routine patient care
• Document all patient care activities accurately using Epic EMR
• Float as needed to additional units including an acute rehab unit and a geriatric psych unit
• Serve a diverse patient population, including African American and Korean-speaking communities, with cultural sensitivity and respect

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license in the state of Nebraska or a qualifying compact state
• Medical Surgical and/or Telemetry nursing experience required
• Candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible; a valid driver's license will be required at time of submittal to verify distance
• Candidates may not currently be employed (full-time, part-time, or PRN) at any facility associated with CommonSpirit Health, including CHI or Dignity Health affiliates
• Artificial nails are prohibited in all patient care areas; compliance with this policy is required to maintain contract placement
• Must be prepared to complete a facility orientation assessment (open-book, skills-based) with a minimum passing score of 90%

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior experience with Epic EMR and Alaris IV pump systems
• Experience caring for post-surgical, cardiac, or oncology patient populations
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team-oriented, culturally diverse environment
• Positive, adaptable attitude with a patient-first mindset
