Mobile Diesel Mechanic II - 7am to 7:30pm

Mobile Diesel Technic II – DOT Cox Automotive – USA. Individual Contributor within Vehicle Operations. Responsibilities Perform scheduled preventative maintenance (PM), DOT inspections, and follow‑up repairs on light, medium, and heavy‑duty vehicles in a mobile/field environment. Diagnose, adjust, and repair truck equipment including electrical, brake, cooling, engine, transmission, hydraulic, and electronic systems. Use test instruments such as handheld computers and pressure gauges to inspect, test, and identify malfunctions. Road‑test vehicles to ensure proper functionality. Manage parts inventory on company‑issued service truck and perform periodic reconciliation. Maintain and operate the service vehicle, conducting safety checks and pre‑/post‑trip inspections. Work independently, manage your own daily schedule, and prioritize concurrent tasks. Document work using company‑issued iOS device and the TRAIT application, including upload of pictures, parts used, and findings. Complete DOT forms and all required documentation in a timely manner. Communicate with clients and management via email or phone for approvals, purchase order numbers, and repair estimate discussions. Perform work in compliance with safety, health, environmental policies, OSHA, EPA, and DOT regulations. Requirements High School Diploma or GED with three (3) years of related experience, or a comparable combination of education and experience. Must possess and supply a set of hand tools required for the job. Obtain ASE T8 (PMI) certification within eighteen (18) months of hire. Pass a DOT‑regulated pre‑employment background check and DOT physical or provide a DOT medical card valid for at least four (4) months. Be at least 21 years of age. Hold a valid driver’s license of the state of residence and be able to maintain a Driver Qualification File. Preferred Certifications ASE T3 (Drivetrain) ASE T4 (Brakes) ASE T5 (Suspension) ASE T6 (Electrical and Electronic Systems) ASE T7 (HVAC) ASE 608/609 (Abrasive Wheel Assistance – optional) Skills & Abilities Ability to lift, bend, climb, stand, and walk for extended periods; perform moderately heavy labor. Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills using logic and reasoning. Effective two‑way communication with individuals and groups. Proficient in selecting appropriate tools and equipment for various jobs. Good spatial judgment and the ability to assess distances accurately.
