TEMPORARY HR COORDINATOR JOB SUMMARY

This is a temporary position to provide coverage for the HR Coordinator during their maternity leave. The Temporary HR Coordinator for San Diego manages all human resource and risk management issues facing the venues managed by the Company in San Diego (collectively, “San Diego Venues”). Those venues currently include Helluva Life, LLC, Moose GTD, LLC, Ballpark Eats & Entertainment, Inc., Social Dining, Inc. and The Garrison West, LLC.

Under the general supervision of the Company HR/Risk Manager, the Temporary HR Coordinator for San Diego is responsible for directing and assisting each venue’s management team with: (1) the hiring and development of the venue’s employees; (2) employment compliance programs, (3) risk management programs, (4) wage & hour compliance programs, (5) employment complaints and claim management resolution, (6) operation risk management protocols, (7) commercial insurance, (8) employee benefits, (9) payroll, and (10) all other matters assigned to the Temporary HR Coordinator – San Diego by the Company executive management team, including, but not limited to human resources or risk management.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Ensure all San Diego Venues are operated in compliance with all applicable federal, state and local wage and hour legal requirements


• Ensure all San Diego Venues have a robust and effective employment compliance program to ensure the venues meet all their anti-discrimination and anti-harassment obligations under applicable law


• Create an inclusive workplace environment that promotes the development and promotion of a diverse workforce throughout all of the San Diego operations


• Create and implement a safety program that promotes the safety and wellbeing of the San Diego Venues’ employees and guests


• Create and implement an accessibility program that ensures the San Diego Venues accommodate and meet the needs of employees and guests who require accommodation under the American with Disabilities Act and applicable state law


• Manage all commercial insurance programs and ensure all commercial insurance programs are properly administered including the maintaining of all policies, ensuring all insurance is current and all additional insured certificates have been issued in accordance with all leases and commercial agreements


• Develop an insurance compliance program to control insurance costs and exposure


• Develop with the San Diego Venues’ management teams a hiring and training program that promotes a strong team of managers and staff employees to help our venues provide exemplary food and beverage products and services that meet or exceed our guests’ expectations


• Respond to and manage all employee complaints in an expeditious and professional manner in full compliance with applicable law


• Respond to and manage all guest complaints in an expeditious and professional manner in full compliance with applicable law


• Assist the San Diego Venues’ management teams in the handling of all employee matters in a professional manner in full compliance with applicable law


• Assist the San Diego Venues’ management teams in the hiring, training, evaluation, counseling, disciplining and termination of employees


• Assist the Chief Legal Officer in the managing of any liability or employment claims against the Company or any of its venues


• Manage all San Diego Venues’ workers’ compensation claims


• Handle all San Diego Venues’ payroll matters, including ensuring all payroll is accurate, and all deductions are properly applied including deductions for taxes and garnishments


• Manage all Company and San Diego Venues’ pay and benefit programs and ensure all employees benefits are properly administered


• Ensure all new hire paperwork is completed and signed, and all employee training, evaluation, counseling, disciplining and termination forms are completed and signed when appropriate for such documentation


• Handle all employment advertisements and recruiting


• Handle all employee onboarding


• Set up new San Diego venues in Paycom


• Prepare and ensure execution of all offer letters, vacation policies and bonus agreements


• Prepare and implement job descriptions for all San Diego venue employees


• Manage all insurance policy audits and work to obtain the lowest cost possible when working through audit issues with auditors, the accounting department and brokers


• Properly calculate and administer bonuses


• Properly prepare payroll accounts for accounting department


• Reconcile payroll bank accounts


• Meet all performance expectations and comply with all Company policies as set forth in the Employee Handbook including, but not limited to all performance, attendance and conduct requirements


• Any additional responsibilities as directed by the Controller, CEO, Chief Legal Officer and Company HR/Risk Manager.

SPECIFIC JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY

• Thorough understanding of all employment, wage & hour and risk management issues facing the Company in order to be able to provide appropriate guidance to the San Diego Venues’ management teams


• Extremely detail-oriented – compliance requires an intense focus on the details. A compliance program that does not get the details correct is a failed compliance program


• Outstanding problem-solving ability – the position must be able to evaluate employment, wage & hour and risk management issues facing the Company, develop solutions for specific problems and implement those solutions with the San Diego venue management teams


• Excellent verbal and written skills


• Ability to multi-task and work on projects with various deadlines


• Flexibility in thinking to evaluate and adjust to problems facing the Company and its San Diego Venues


• Outstanding communication skills to be able to work with supervisors, coworkers and the San Diego Venues’ management teams in managing and holding staff accountable for all policies and procedures, including all policies in our Employee Handbook


• Exceptional interpersonal skills, professionalism and work ethic in order set the standard for professionalism and work ethic for all Company employees and all employees of the San Diego Venues


• Ability to work under pressure and professionally deal with stressful situations


• Ability to work independently without the need for direct supervision

QUALIFICATION STANDARDS

Education

College Degree Required

SHRM and/or other HR certification preferred

Experience

Minimum of three years in a human resource department or experience performing human resource duties
