Job Title: Geographic Information Analyst Job Type: Full-Time Category: Data Management, Analysis & Research Location: NCTCOG - ARLINGTON, TX 76005 US (Primary) GIS Analyst We are seeking a skilledGeographic InformationAnalystto support spatial data development, maintenance, and advanced geospatial analysis. This role requires hands-on experience working with geodatabases in an editing environment, strongproficiencywith Esri tools, and the ability to clearly document workflows and analytical results. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, analytical, and comfortable collaborating with technical and non-technical stakeholders. Key Responsibilities Create, edit, andmaintainspatial data within enterprise and file geodatabases Perform data editing in a multi-user editing environment, ensuring data integrity and adherence to standards UseEsri software (ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Enterprise, ArcGIS Online) to support mapping, analysis, and data management tasks Performadvanced spatial analyses, including but not limited to geoprocessing, spatial modeling, and data validation Develop andmaintaindocumentation for datasets, workflows, methodologies, and metadata Produce high-qualitydata, reports, and analytical outputs to support decision-making Collaborate with project managers, analysts, and subject matter experts to define requirements and deliver GIS solutions Support data quality assurance/quality control (QA/QC) efforts Troubleshoot GIS data and workflow issues and recommend improvements Skills that are essential for success in this role Demonstrated experience working with both enterprise and file geodatabases Proven ability to work in an editing environment with versioned data Strongproficiencywith Esri tools, especially ArcGIS Pro Experience performing advanced spatial analysis,geoprocessing, and automation Experience with programming or scripting languages such as Python Strong written communication skills, with the ability to clearly document technical work Attention to detail and a strong understanding of data standards and best practices Ableto manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines Able to learn new skillsthrough formal trainingorindependentinitiative Able toexhibitprofessionalism in all aspects ofdutiesand committed to high-quality output Skills that are highly desirable Experience with ArcGIS EnterpriseandArcGIS Online administration Familiarity with Python (ArcPy) orModelBuilderfor workflow automation Familiarity withGeoAI Experience working with spatial databasesincludingSQL Server,PostgreSQL, and MongoDB Knowledge of metadata standards and data governance practices Experience supporting cross-functional teams or large-scale GIS programs Required Experience Atleastthreeyears ofdirectexperience and a Bachelor’s degreefrom an accredited college or universityin ascientific ortechnicalfield. Candidates with related experience and formaleducationin a non-technical fieldwillalso be consideredaswillnon-degreed candidates withdemonstratedsignificant, related competencies and work experience.
