Take the opportunity to make a profound impact on young students’ communication skills as a School-Based Speech-Language Pathologist working on a leave coverage assignment through January. Situated near the vibrant city of Chicago, this contract opportunity focuses primarily on preschoolers, with occasional involvement up to 2nd grade. With a friendly and collaborative caseload model, you’ll deliver therapy, conduct evaluations, and play a vital role in each student’s Individualized Education Program (IEP) team.

Key Qualifications and Credentials:

• Illinois SLP-CCC required
• Current Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL)
• Experience with pediatric populations in educational settings
• Proficient in developing and implementing IEP goals
• Commitment to supporting diverse student needs and fostering inclusive communication
• Strong interpersonal, organization, and documentation skills

Primary Responsibilities:

• Deliver direct speech-language therapy services to assigned students
• Complete screenings, assessments, and comprehensive evaluations
• Develop IEPs in collaboration with school staff and families
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation and progress reports
• Utilize evidence-based practices to support speech and language development
• Consult and collaborate with teachers, specialists, and parents to optimize student outcomes

Role Details:

• Contracted leave replacement from October through January
• Serves mostly preschool students in a school setting; some caseload may extend to 2nd grade
• Standard work hours from 8:00–3:15, totaling 33.75 hours weekly
• Interviews conducted individually, preferably via Zoom
