Senior Accountant

A growing, multi-entity consumer products and distribution organization is seeking a detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join its finance and accounting team. This role offers broad exposure across financial reporting, inventory accounting, operational finance, and month-end close within a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will have strong general accounting experience, a hands‑on approach, and the ability to operate independently while partnering cross-functionally with operations, procurement, and leadership teams. Key Responsibilities Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, ensuring accuracy, compliance with GAAP, and timely reporting Manage general ledger activity, including journal entries, reconciliations, accruals, and account analysis Support month-end and year-end close processes across multiple operational areas Perform inventory accounting and reconciliations, including inventory valuation and cost analysis Analyze cost of goods sold, operational expenses, freight, and distribution-related costs to support profitability analysis Reconcile accounts payable and accounts receivable activity and assist with discrepancy resolution Partner with internal and external auditors by preparing schedules and supporting documentation Assist with tax-related reporting and compliance requirements, including sales and use tax support Participate in budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities Ensure adherence to internal controls, accounting policies, and financial procedures Provide financial analysis and reporting to support operational and strategic decision-making Collaborate cross-functionally with operations, purchasing, logistics, and leadership teams Identify opportunities for process improvements, automation, and increased efficiency within accounting workflows Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field 2–5+ years of accounting experience preferred Strong understanding of general ledger accounting, reconciliations, financial reporting, and month-end close Experience with inventory and cost accounting is highly preferred Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with high attention to detail Advanced Microsoft Excel skills required Experience with ERP systems and accounting software preferred Excellent communication and organizational skills CPA or progress toward certification is a plus #J-18808-Ljbffr Talent Lab Partners LLC
