Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

This position runs from mid-August 2026 through May 2027, making it ideal for travel educators seeking a full academic-year placement. You’ll work closely with elementary or middle school resource students—either supporting young learners in foundational academics or partnering with adolescents navigating their middle school years.

As part of a supportive education team, you’ll be partnered with paraeducators and provided with supervision. You’ll make a genuine impact, helping students achieve growth and fostering a positive learning environment, whether assigned to an elementary or middle school setting.

Qualifications & Desired Experience:

• Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (IL PEL) with Special Education endorsement
• Previous experience as a Special Education Teacher, preferably in a resource classroom
• Ability to work collaboratively with fellow educators, staff, and families
• Strong organizational, communication, and classroom management skills
• Flexible and adaptable, ready for varying caseloads across K-8 grades
• Willingness to complete required onboarding, including fingerprinting, prior to start

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to each student’s needs
• Provide resource support for students in either elementary or middle school, fostering academic and social growth
• Collaborate and communicate with teachers, staff, and parents to maximize student success
• Utilize differentiated instruction to meet diverse learning requirements
• Maintain accurate documentation and participate in regular staff meetings
